Luke Nelson
Luke is one of the most dynamic professionals in the Tahoe real estate market, offering a fresh, positive perspective on work life and happiness. He works alongside David Gemme at the Sierra Sotheby’s office in Tahoe City, a place that he proudly calls home.
Originally from York, Pennsylvania, Luke played soccer at Penn State University before moving to Florence, Italy, where he worked in marketing for a destination marketing organization. When the pandemic hit, he made a bold move to Lake Tahoe, inspired by the landscapes he had seen in ski films. Since then, he has fully embraced an active, outdoor lifestyle, spending his days exploring the region.
Luke quickly fell in love with Olympic Valley and the lake, structuring his ideal day around adventure, starting with a morning gym session, a productive office session, a few hours of skiing at Alpine or Palisades Tahoe, and finishing with a hot vinyasa or Bikram yoga class. Keeping up with him isn’t easy; from managing a hockey team in the Truckee outdoor league to trail running in remote spots few know exist, to dirt biking through the Carson Range and North Lake Tahoe. For any property, Luke knows the closest trails, mapped or unmapped, to the home. Luke has the mindset that he can and will do everything to the best of his ability.
Luke’s favorite saying: “Endless déjà vu, today is the best day every, right after yesterday.”
At Gemme Group, Luke leads marketing efforts for the company, promotes listings, and oversees operations, working closely with David to manage day to day business. Licensed in both California and Nevada, Luke gives his clients the unique advantage of exploring properties across state lines. His work ethic and deep understanding of micromarkets make him an invaluable asset to the team, and his natural ability to leverage various platforms ensures the word gets out about the exceptional properties he represents.
