Luke Nelson
Luke is one of the most dynamic professionals in the Tahoe real estate market, offering a fresh, positive perspective on work life and happiness. He works alongside David Gemme at the Sierra Sotheby’s office in Tahoe City, a place that he proudly calls home.
Originally from York, Pennsylvania, Luke played soccer at Penn State University before moving to Florence, Italy, after graduation. There, he worked in marketing for a destination marketing organization (DMO). When the pandemic hit, Luke made a bold move to Lake Tahoe, drawn by its beauty after seeing it in a Shane McConkey ski film. Since then, he’s embraced an active, outdoor lifestyle, spending his time exploring the area. He quickly fell in love with Olympic Valley and the Lake, and his ideal day is packed with adventure: starting with morning yoga, followed by a productive office session, riding his dirt bike with skis in tow to hit the slopes, a quick beach break for some Vitamin D, back to work and yoga, and finishing the day with a fresh, homemade meal.
At Gemme Group, Luke leads marketing efforts for the company, promotes listings, and oversees operations, working closely with David to manage day-to-day business. Licensed in both California and Nevada, Luke gives his clients the unique advantage of exploring properties across state lines. His work ethic and deep understanding of micromarkets make him an invaluable asset to the team, and his natural ability to leverage various platforms ensures the word gets out about the exceptional properties he represents.
Some of Luke’s most notable personal accomplishments outside of work include trail running Mt. Whitney and Langley in record time, completing the Mountain Lotus 30-day, 30-class challenge, biking the 72-mile Lake Loop annually on a non-road bike, skiing over 100 days each season, winning a national championship in soccer, managing a Truckee hockey team, attending Burning Man, and fully embracing the Tahoe lifestyle.
