Businesses around Lake Tahoe are reporting record sales and attendance this winter. As the Gemme Group’s Market Report stated in our article last week, Real Estate sales this past January and February have blown the past 10+ years out of the water, and this holds true for our local establishments as well.
Squaw Valley-Alpine Meadows PR Manager states, “We just had our most successful February on record, and we are tracking for one of our best seasons in history. With 27 feet of snowfall and a 10 foot base, the season is still young yet, and we have committed to keeping the resort open as long as possible, which is into May on an average year!”
Plumpjack Squaw Valley Inn indicated a record-breaking February for their Restaurant and Inn since the first day they opened their doors. With an impending major renovation, Plumpjack is gearing up for only better things to come.
Businesses in Truckee are claiming record-breaking numbers as well, from boutiques, to restaurants, and hotels. Cottonwood Restaurant Restaurant Manager, Tim Hill says, “The operative word here is ‘SNOW’! Snow makes the difference here.”
Snow is bringing our visitors to the Lake Tahoe area, and we’re looking forward to even more in the coming week! With 7 inches overnight, and a whole week of snow in the forecast, our Miracle March is looking pretty big! January was a wet and snowy month, but February was relatively dry all things considered. If February still broke records, what in the world will March bring??!
Only time will tell, but we’re gearing up for a BUSY March, and invite you to call us if you are interested in Buying or Selling real estate in Lake Tahoe! Inventory is building up, and we’ve got some GREAT properties on the market. If you love Lake Tahoe, and are considering calling this place “home,” call us today.
